Anyone have a clue as to what this part is for? I just got a new barbecue pit, specifically a New Braunfels Hondo Deluxe, and this part was “extra”. It’s not mentioned in the instructions anywhere, and it has no obvious purpose. It’s about 7 inches long. I welcome any identification yall can offer.

My grill came with a similar device used for lifting the cast iron grates to add coals while cooking.

This strang looking object is a handle used to lift the metal grates while cooking or to clean underneath.

Yeah, looks like a utensil of some sort. For levering logs, or moving grates, perhaps.

I believe this is a handle for removing and replacing hot and sooty grates.
